This year's Swedish Literature Awards

Some significant literary prizes are awarded this spring. The Nordic Council Literature Prize, the Swedish Radio's Literature Prize and the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award are only a few of the upcoming awards.

The Nordic Council Literature Prize

Swedish author Agneta Pleijel's "Doften av en man" ("The Scent of a Man, Norstedts Agency) and poet Gunnar D Hansson's poetry Collection Tapeshavet (Albert Bonniers Förlag) are both nominated for the 2018 Nordic Council Literature Prize. All in all 13 works have the chance to win the prize and DKK 350,000. The winner will be announced on 30 October.

The Swedish Radio's Literature Prize

Agneta Pleijel's novel is also shortlisted for Swedish Radio's Literature Prize. The jury's final choice is to be revealed on April 27. Congratulations and good luck!

Borås Tidning Debutant Prize 2018

Author Agnes Lidbeck was awarded the prestigious Borås Tidning Debutant Prize 2018 for her novel Finna sig (Supporting Act, Norstedts Agency). Congratulations!

The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA) 

The world’s largest international award for children’s and young adult literature is announced from Stockholm every spring. This year’s award will be announced on 27 March 2018. The prize reward authors, illustrators, storytellers and promoters of reading from all over the world. Last year’s recipient was the German illustrator Wolf Erlrbuch.
