Our specific Government remit

We have several special Government remits concerning international exchange and collaboration.

The Cities of Refuge programme

We work to include more cities in Sweden in ICORN, (the International Cities of Refuge Network), and become cities of refuge for threatened artists. In addition, we work to facilitate for the artists of refuge in Sweden to be in the public eye. We do this through different types of information and through awarding grants to projects, giving artists of refuge possibilities to participate in public and artistic contexts.

Creative Europe

We are the national contact point in Sweden for the EU programme for the cultural and creative sectors Creative Europe. We work to strengthen international cultural cooperation, inform about Creative Europe, promoting awareness and understanding of Creative Europe and providing free advice sessions for Swedish applicantsWe can also help applicants to find project partners in both Sweden and in Europe.

Unesco 2005 convention

We are the national contact for the Unesco 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.

Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award

We administer the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award – the world's largest award for literature for children and young people – the prize is awarded yearly. Our Alma secretariat works with administration and communication concerning the prize.
