The Curious Chamber Players, a Gothenburg-based new music ensemble founded in 2003, will collaborate with the Japanese dance company NEMO on a cross-disciplinary project titled Contour in September 2026. Showcasing the talents of two dancers, three musicians and composer Rei Munakata, the project will see them collaborate to create a new piece alongside works by Swedish composers.
Exploring the concept of 'contour' through movement, sound, and form, the project will combine dance, music, and Japanese cultural influences to create new artistic expressions. The collaboration will also continue in Sweden, further strengthening the international cultural exchange between the two countries. Performances: Tokyo, 5-12 September, featuring three to four performances at Motoeigakan.
